OK, the NFL is the last group I’d expect to pull this.
Wow, being able to watch live NFL games online might actually make me watch them!

You gotta admire a guy who has the sack to use an $1800 Macbook Air as a cake cutter.
Apparently, the guy’s taken some grief over it, which is unfortunate. I found it hilarious.

Now, this is a step in the right direction towards fighting piracy.
I think this highlights a bit problem between consumers and big content: consumers don’t know what services are legal and which ones aren’t. Case in point, the rise and fall of All of MP3. The internet has definitely muddied these waters.
I’ve been using Hulu quite a bit and dig it much, however, their content catalog has to beef up significantly and the duration between TV airing and when it appears on Hulu needs to shrink (8 days between the two currently; too long).
I can’t wait to see what the MPAA comes up with, but I can’t help but think that this isn’t a growing trend of doing the right thing on their part.

Ryan Reynolds is taking on the role of Deadpool. Now I’m not sure who I wish to see more of in the movie, Ryan or Hugh Jackman.
Taylor Kitsch, whome I’ve never heard of, is also taking on the role of Gambit. I hope he’s good at it; Gambit and Wolverine were my two favorite comic characters. Hugh Jackman’s proven himself as Wolverine, we’ll just have to see if Taylor Kitsch can do the same as Gambit.

I’m linking to this story for no other purpose than this quote:
the vibrator had to be used longer than it was designed for, resulting in a short circuit.
I hate it when that happens…

The city of Monticello, Minnesota wants to enhance the living of it’s citizens as well as attract more of them, but building it’s own fiber-optic network. A fiber connection to every home, which will link up and allow other ISP’s to provide services to every member of the community.
Imagine, true competition. ISP’s, telecoms and cable companies will no longer be able to use the excuse of not having service available in that area to control competition or force a duopoly.
It…It..makes sense! Also, it’s a model that most of the rest of the world is following, so it’s proven to work.
Since it’s so wonderful, makes so much sense and is so good for the people living there, they’re being sued by the local telecom, Bridgewater Telephone.
They’re argument? Well, it’s not really much of one. It’s basically, “Nuh-uh, you can’t do that!”, followed swiftly with a “And we’re not gonna either for years!”
So much for an open market.

The New York Yankees have banned the possession of sublock at Yankee Stadium all in the name of preventing terrorism.
Good thing the stadium sells 1 oz bottles of spf15 for the bargain price of $5 a bottle. Don’t you feel safer already?
Now, if you read the article that Boing Boing links to, you’ll find this at the bottom:
An hour after being asked about the sunscreen ban, Yankee spokesman Jason Zillo told The Post that the rules would be changed to permit 3-ounce containers.
While that’s better, I still question the need to ban sunscreen at all. I have to wonder if this was just an attempt to try and gouge fans that just went wrong for them.

This is so much better than dueling pistols! I hope it makes America’s Funniest Videos soon.

If, by non-violent, you mean violent.
