While on break because of the new kiddo, I decided it was time to migrate my pc back to Windows for a myriad of reasons but, mostly, due to photo editing and gaming, the two tasks I do more of than anything else and, just by chance, are done much better on Windows than Linux (I still dream, though).

Since I was re-installing anyway, I decided to give Vista a whirl since it wouldn’t take a lot of effort to reinstall XP if everything went kerfutzled.

So, I installed Vista. And…I like it. I feel so…dirty.

Anyways, with the bashing of MS (which will continue, BTW) and the shots I’ve taken at some of the things MS has done with Vista, I figured it’s only fair to admit defeat.

In truth, I’ve noticed a common thread in all of the Vista complaints I’ve heard: They’re all about pre-installed OEM versions of Vista. My install (which I got free from Dell) went without a hitch and flows quite nicely. Aero runs fantastic, looks great and hasn’t slowed my system down at all. Just in case anyone’s curious, here’s my current setup:

• AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Dual Core @ 2 GHZ
• 1GB DDR2 PC2 4200 RAM
• 160 GB SATA Hard Drive
• NVIDIA 7300LE video card

Nothing spectacular, but it runs Vista and the meager assortment of games I play.

So, there you have it.

Yup, crystal popped! New bouncing baby boy weighing in at 6 pounds, 6 ounces and measuring 19.5 inches.

He was born at 7:09 pm on august 21.

Sony sued (again) for patent violation, injunction sought on PS3 sales - Engadget.

I’m not sure why they’re seeking an injunction. It’s not like the things are selling anyway.

Wonderful. We’re fighting a war that wrecking people’s lives, dealing with our rights being taken from us a little at a time and Senator Mark Pryor is working on a bill for a turbo V-chip that even he doesn’t think will do anything but “…light a fire under the FCC to take a fresh look at new options in the marketplace.”

Yes, with all of our current problems, let’s waste time on stupid stuff like this!
