Some Suave freaks up in ‘ere

So, last night while I was in the shower, I was looking at my cheap $0.99 bottle of Suave shampoo and happened to see my wife’s bottle of Suave body wash and thought to myself: “Self, those look awfully close in color”.
Getting curious (and because I apparantly don’t have better things to do in the shower), I started reading the ingredients. They’re the same. The only
My 15 oz. bottle of shampoo cost $0.99/bottle. Her 12 oz. bottle of body wash cost $3.99/bottle.
Just so everyone’s up to speed, Suave is selling shampoo as body wash for a higher price for less product.

My anti body wash prejudice is vindicated!! 3 bars of soap are about the same price (if not cheaper), get you just as clean, and last much longer. I don’t understand the attraction. I’ve heard some people say it’s more sanitary. WTF? It’s soap! I’ve also been told it dries out your skin less but unless you’re showering twice every day with extra hard water I can’t see how your skin is getting that dry. :/
The ingredients may be the same, but what about proportions? Meaning, shampoo may have 50% of Ingredient A and 20% of Ingredient B and 30% of Ingredient C while bodywash may have 70% of Ingredient A, 5% Ingredient B, and 25% of Ingredient C.
I dunno.
And to John - some of us just have very dry skin to begin with.
As for us, hubby uses the bar soap and I use a variety of body washes, but sometimes bar. I recently bought some home made bar stuff at a craft fair - very nice. We also use different shampoos - he uses Suave and I Dove.
i agree with the proportions thing valerie’s talking about … but all that means is that you should go buy two bottles of their shampoo, mix up your own batch of their body wash and save yourself a buck!
wait, that wouldn’t work, would it? screw it, i’m sticking with soap.
just fill her body wash with your shampoo and see if she notices. if not, just keep filling it, and she’ll just think the bottle lasts longer and won’t need to buy new stuff as often. make sense? well it did in my head anyways until i wrote it out…
You ever notice that kerosene, diesel fuel, and jet fuel all very strangely have the exactly same octane ratings and burn purity rates? Like, exactly the same? Ever wonder why?
Because they ARE the same! Diesel fuel and jet fuel have additives, but those additives are, quite literally, to give it some color and possibly a slightly different odor. That’s it.
Now, go check out the prices for all 3 products. Widely different prices. Isn’t that odd? Essentially the exact same product, very different prices. Hmmm.
I wouldn’t doubt if your shampoo and her body wash, if not utterly identical, weren’t within 5% of the exact same proportions of ingredients. Wouldn’t surprise me at all.
Don’t get me started on this topic, though. It drives me insane.
