Teh Remy and I went to see Kung Fu Hustle (A.K.A. Gong Fu) Wednesday.
It wasn’t as great as Remy had made it out to be, but it was funny. If I had it to do over, I’d have waited for it to come out on DVD and bought it on discount. It’s worth owning, but not really worth paying inflated movie ticket prices to go to a theater and see.
The core story was pretty strong, the special effects were really good and you really can’t go wrong with Kung Fu.
Stephen Chow has another movie that preceeded this one called Shaolin Soccer (a.k.a. Siu lam juk kau) that looks really good that I’d like to see.

* Action Alert: Protect Public Weather Data!
The National Weather Service (NWS), a taxpayer-funded agency,
monitors thousands of weather stations around America in
order to predict hurricanes, sunshine, and every
meteorological event in between. In addition to the raw
data that it assembles, NWS has recently started offering
more user-friendly info to the public via the Internet.
So why has Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA) introduced a bill
that would restrict the kind of information that NWS can
freely share?
The National Weather Services Duties Act (S.786) would ban
NWS from “competing” with private entities by making it
unlawful for the agency to publish user-friendly weather
data and barring NWS experts from speaking one-on-one to
news agencies. Why? Because Senator Santorum believes
that companies like AccuWeather would make more money if
they didn’t have to compete with “free.” That’s right -
he believes you should pay twice for your weather
information in order to line the pockets of the private
weather industry, which *already* benefits from repackaging
the data that tax-funded agencies like NWS give away.
That’s not only unfair, it’s a bad precedent for our
national information resources. Help stop S.786 by
sending a letter to your senators today!

Two things about this:
That being said, I question the legitimacy of the original post. Is someone really that stupid?

All I want to do is take a bunch of .CSV files and import them into Excel, each as a separate sheet in a workbook. Is that too much to ask?!?

Way to treat your paying customers like criminals.
Jeez, it’s no wonder places like All of MP3 are getting incredibly popular.
I have a lot more to rant about on this subject, but I just don’t really have the time to do it right now.

Guys, you no longer have to worry about being spongeworthy! The Today Sponge contraceptive is returning to the US after a decade of being pulled from shelves.
I wonder if there’ll be “moral” objections to these as well?

Many moons ago, Crystal and I bought a Konica Minolta Magicolor 2300DL color laser printer. For the price, it’s a sweet printer. However, shortly after I bought it, we got an iBook laptop and Konica Minolta didn’t have a driver that worked with MacOS X. There was some voodoo you could do to get it to work, but you could only print in black and white.
Well, come to find out, Konica Minolta recently released a Mac OSX driver for the 2300DL! I’m still fidgeting with it so that I can print from both windows and the iBook via ethernet, but I can say it works!
