In response to this post, I recieved the following comment from my father:

 About the football pre-game!!!
The reason this doesn’t bother you
is because over the years you have
allowed them to brainwash you with
useless non-sense. Your mind is so
clogged with garbage you don’t even notice
it any more.

“We don’t see things for what
they are, we see things for what we are”.

I’ll bet when Shelby is old enough to
watch the game with you and ask questions
you’ll change your tune.

P.S. If your going to share
your thoughts with people it would be
best to spell them correctly.

I originally wasn’t going to post anything about it other than a reply in the comments, but, since the email he gave isn’t active, I’m compelled to.

My reply in comments and email was:

You know, I went through 4 draft replies to your comment. Each one was
more and more hostile than the last and I just don’t have the energy
to go down that road right now.

Suffice it to say that if you see me as “brainwashed” and unable to
think and make choices for myself, then, well, I guess we really don’t
know each other.

Your comment was hurtful, judgmental, out of line and I’m shocked that
you think so little of me as to see me that way. I’ll thank you to
keep comments like that to yourself in the future.

I also like the vote of confidence you instill in me by telling me
that my mind is clogged with garbage.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to stuff my mind with more garbage to
enhance the brainwashing process.

Let me remind everyone that this is MY website and nothing will bring the wrath of the admin down on you faster than questioning my parenting skills or suggesting in anyway that my thought process in not my own (i.e. “brainwashed”). All such comments will be removed immediately and with extreme hostility.

P.S. If you’re going to try and humiliate and talk down to me on my own site, it would be best to at least leave a WORKING email address.
