Can I smack him?

I have a co-worker that likes to babble asinine stuff occasionally. Most of the time, it harmless. Sometimes I want to stick my size 12’s sideways up his rear. Maybe I’ll record him one day for your amusement. Today, he chose to tie media biasness to liberalism.
See, usually, I ignore him, but today, he just went too far. I’m going to paraphrase for lots of reasons, but mostly because he rambles a lot and tends to repeat himself while doing so.
Him: “I sick of this liberal crap in the media. They’re all too liberal [insert incoherent babble and rambling]. Anytime they get something against Bush, they [Insert phrases that really shouldn't be spoken out loud at work]. They’re nothing but a bunch of liberal assholes and it’s stupid!”
Me: You mean sort of like generalizing all liberals in that group because the media is biased?
Him: “YEAH!” …[Insert dead silence once he realized what he just said].
Seriously, this is the kind of attitude that makes me want to wretch. The biasness in the media has nothing to do with liberalness or conservatism. They’re like that because it gets ratings, which is what they base everything on. It’s true that most media outlets will take any opportunity to bash Bush, but they reserve that right for anybody!

where are you located?
Nice zinger! And you’re right about the ratings. It’s always about ratings. People want to read what they *want* to read, right?
yea go on, smack him.
