Lucky me. I get to write some script sets.

In one I have to write an automated ftp script that transfers a 100MB test file from one of our systems to all the systems of another site, make sure all the ftp session information is logged and, possibly, parse it to make sense. I’m not sure if I have to parse it or not because the guy doing it before me (who’s on vacation, get this, at HAWAII, for 3 weeks!!!) wasn’t parsing anything. If I don’t have to do that, I actually get off pretty easy since I’ve done things like this before.

The second one’s a tad trickier. I have to write a set of automated scripts that login to all of our systems here, one at a time and guage whether that login succeded or not. It sounds easy, but it’s really not. I may have found way to do this pretty easily. Acutally, I feel kinda stupid for not thinking of this earlier.

The ftp one may be back-burnered for a little while until I can get accounts at the other sites.
