For those who care, I’m refusing to watch the presidential “debate” tonight. It’s fake, scripted and in no way reflects anything resembling an actual, intellectual debate.
Our forefathers are turning in their graves over this crap.

Now you, too, can be bad-ass like Garrett! Thief-dom is just a click away!
In all honesty, I’m thinking about ordering one of the several keychaing sets just in case I do ever lock my keys in my car or some such nonsense.

How’s this for a freakin’ twist of events:
Mozilla 1.7.3 is actually building just peachy on our SGI systems and our SUN’s are giving me the finger this time. The Linux version isn’t a problem since I just install binary releases from Red Hat (yeah, sue me).
Historically speaking, this scenario should be reversed. Our SGI builds daiting back to 1.2.1 has given me nothing but heartburn, headaches and, problaby, and ulcer with all the other builds/installs going like clockwork.
But not now. Oh no, can’t have that, can we? What the hell?!?
Normally, I wouldn’t bother with a point upgrade (1.7.2 to 1.7.3 for the uneducated out there), but this one fixes some nasty security holes that I’d rather not leave open (read, I was told to do the install by our security dudes).

I’m flabberghasted. Ted Raimi, brother of Sam Raimi (you know, director of Evil Dead 2 and Spider Man 1 & 2?), is….Joxer the Mighty!
I had no idea until I seen these pics of him.
Flabberghasted I tell you…

I guess the only way I’m going to get this done is to just go ahead and do it. So, here goes.
I started the vacation off by getting my grubby little hands on Thief 3 and, summarily, got addicted and spent the next day or so advancing that addiction, much to the chagrin of the wife.
Once the foot came down, we decided to take a day and go to the Cincinnati Museum Center, which includes the Cincinnati History Museum, Cinergy Children’s Museum, Museum of Natural History & Science and an IMAX theater. We declined on the Cincinnati History Museum and Cinergy Children’s Museum, but was all bout the Museum of Natural History & Science and IMAX theater. Pictures will be up as soon as I stop procrastinating.
The IMAX was showing Australia. This was the first time I’ve ever been to an IMAX and definitly recommend it to anyone. Shelby didn’t appreciate the sprialing tunnel they use as an introduction, but calmed down after that part finished. The rest she treated like a giant TV, which, I suppose, is better than being horrified at the experience.
Next, we visited the United States Air Force Museum. If you’ve never been next to a large aircraft, let me warn you that it is a very humbling experience. Of course I was a dolt and forgot my camera. Guess that’s an excuse to make another trip soon! I have severe vertigo issues with looking up in large, open buildings. Most of the time I can control it, but not here. Having these giant machines right over your head is very intimidating and there were parts that almost had me crawling.
That said, they had some of the most impressive planes I’ve seen. They had the B2 bomber, the F117A Stealth Fighter, the A-10A ThunderboltII and, of course, the mighty SR-71 Blackbird along with the experimental crafts that preceeded them. Again, if you’re ever near Fairborn, OH (and, really, why would you?) you should stop by and check it out.
The rest of the vacation was spent hanging out with friends, eating out, relaxing and watching an obscene amount of DVDs. Which I will go into now.
Of course there was a few days of housework involved. Laundry, dishes, etc.
That’s it in a nutshell. Pretty good vacation if i do say so m’self. Very low-stress and relaxing.

Pulled from Bloglines news:
Today we announced the Bloglines Web Services, a set of functions to access Bloglines data in other programs. The services are built on open standards, and make it easy to access Bloglines subscription and blog entry data.
We also announced that several leading desktop aggregators, including FeedDemon and NetNewsWire, will be supporting the new functions, which will allow their users to synchronize their desktop accounts with Bloglines.
We look forward to the many exciting applications that will be built, and we will continue to expand the functionality of the Bloglines Web Services.
Sweet! Hopefully Newsfire adds that ability soon. I may soon have a nother reason to use a desktop reader again!

For all you security hounds in the audience, I just found out that the US CERT office has RSS feed for all it’s alerts, bulletins, docs, etc.
If you’ve been interested in keeping an eye on what teh government deems a security risk in software, this is a good place to look.
In other news, a vacation report is in the works. All the slimey details, including pics, to follow.
