While I love BlogPatrol, they use the dreaded target=”_blank” tag in their little site button. If you prefer not to have it do that, search through the javascript that you plugged into your site and look for this section:
document.write(’<a href=”http://www.blogpatrol.com target=”_blank”>’);
and replace it with this:
document.write(’<a href=”http://www.blogpatrol.com>’);
I’m not sure how to make those stats public or if anyone would actually want to do that.

Without futher adue, my first post to the “Rants” category:
Gay Marriages. What a topic to start off with, huh?
First, let me start off by saying that I am a Christian. Not a bible-thumping, devout Christian, but I am Christian, none-the-less.
When I think of marriage, I really separate it into two separate things. There’s church marriage and legal marriage. a church marriage is marriage in the eyes of God being done by a preacher or priest of God. Legal marriage is exactly that. married under law. Usually performed by a Justice of the Peace or a Judge.
I’m all for legal gay marriages. Let the law marry them because, in the eyes of God, all men are created equal and homosexuals deserve just as many rights as heterosexuals. Why people think they deserve any less is beyond me. Damn homophobes.
However, I’m strictly against gay church marriages. First, God did intend man to be with woman and woman to be with man. Second, you probably won’t find a church that’ll marry a gay couple and I don’t think they should be forced to perform those marriages if it goes against their religion.
Those being said, I don’t feel that religion should be the basis for allowing or not allowing gay marriages as it currently is.
I feel people holding us gay marriages are not only wasting their time, but are sorely violating the separation of church and state rule. If you think about it, it’s true. In the eyes of the law, there’s really no difference between marrying two men/women and marrying a woman and a man. That leaves only religious beliefs in the way. Which means these guys are basing laws off of their religious beliefs.
Our own President and Attorney General both denounce gay marriages because of their religious beliefs. So I ask, where’s the separation of church and state there? Everyone gets in a fuss and arranges protests and sit-ins to keep a hunk of rock from being moved from a courthouse that doesn’t belong there, why aren’t these things being done in the name of gay marriages? Sickening, really.
A quote comes to mind when this comes up: “Judge not lest ye be udged judged (thanks for spotting that John) yourself”. Sound familiar? Christianity is about the belief in god and sharing that belief with others, NOT ramming it down every throat you see. I’m content with my belief and relationship with God and understand that, ultimately, it will be HIM that judges me. What can’t other Christians see that and let well enough alone?

There’s a lot of things I don’t post because…we…frankly it’s angry drivel that happens to be bothering me at the time. That and my “Babble” category is getting much larger than any of my others as it is. Things like traffic peeves, what I think about the latest political crap, etc. Originally what I intended the “Politics” category to be, but never achieved.
Whith that I introduce the “Rants” category. This will be mostly angry postings that will most likely land my butt in some hot water with readers. Just remember, you’re allowed to dissagree with what I write. You’re allowed to voice that disagreement in my comments section. You ARE NOT allowed to flame me, other readers or anyone for that matter. Disagree, but keep it civil.

Life is like a parking lot: everyone’s trying to get a better spot and the handicapped end up with the best ones.
Unfortunately, this also applies to business and management.

When the heck did Blogpatrol come back? Last I checked, they bit the dust several months ago because the owner couldn’t keep up with it.
Not that I’m upset with it’s return, mind you. Quite the opposite, I loved blogpatrol.
As you’ll notice, I’ve re-instated the blogpatrol counter at the bottom (which is MUCH nicer looking than the sitemeter icon) of the page. I encourage everyone to go give them a spin.

I’ve been so out of it the past few days. My sinuses have been giving me no end of grief and, as a result, I’ve not slept well for almost a week (Previous to that, I had actually been starting to get regular sleep).
I can feel it’s passing because I don’t have the huge headaches anymore, my node isn’t running constantly and I can almost tolerate sunlight (that last one may be ore related to me being a computer geek than my sinuses). However, I’m now REALLY sore and my throat hurts from all the coughing.
I think one more night of REALLY good sleep with put htis thing to rest, but, being a weekend, that’s probably not going ot happen. I like to do most of my gaming on the weekends. We’ll see.
No real point to this post. Just me whining about my sinuses.
That is all.

While I can’t beat Annessa’s birthday greeting (pun intended), I can say Happy Brithday Lisa!
Now, everyone go wish her a happy birthday. Now. Go on. Tell her Jason sent ya.
Now, let the spankings commence (in a totally friendly manner, of course)!

Shelby just said “Dad”! Clear as a bell. She’s been saying dada, mama and nana, but never a real word like that!
I just looked at her and said “dad” and she said it right back!
Ok, proud father moment over.

For those not following, the latest version of OpenOffice.org has new filters that allow direct export to PDF, Aportis doc (the palm doc format) and flash files. This is on top of MS Office compatibility.
How cool is that? Kinda makes you wonder why a certain other office package is even used anymore.
